:) 193 dias!

"Dear Wasatch’s faculty and staff,

I believe you already know a lot about me as a student, but I know that it is also important to get to know me as a Brazilian 14-years-old girl. As you know, my name is Genevieve Zucchetto de Oliveira, I’m from Vitória – ES and I blow out my candles in 06/19.
As a normal teenager, I really love my friends and they are a special part of my life. They have been supporting me and even though we’ve got some differences, we are always making efforts to understand and help each other whenever it’s necessary. We enjoy going to the movies, riding our bikes around town and eating barbecue in the Saturday’s afternoon. We also go to the church every Sunday, and we love our group, “Adolescents meeting Christ”.
I live with my parents and grandparents here in Pancas, a small town with less than 17000,00 people. It may sound a good town size, but here in Brazil a town like this is not very developed, so there are no movie theaters, restaurant and stuff like that. Moving to a small town was definitely weird, but it made me realize that I was locked into my own world, and I was only seeing what was in front of me, in my neighborhood and school. When I came to my new town, I had the opportunity to see how hard life can be to some people, and I felt like I needed to help them, and that was when I begun to do volunteer work.
Here in Pancas, I met some awesome people and made lifelong friendships. However, it can’t provide me what I need to be very successful, and achieve all of my aims. Except that and the lack of infra-structure, the town is great. Lots of people from other countries come here to do paragliding, and I always talk to them when I see someone that is not from Brazil. Some people think I’m crazy because of it, but if I was in other country I would love to see someone trying to help me.
The school that I attended in 2007 is great, and everyone is so heartwarming. The small school made me feel
comfortable and welcomed. Anyway, I only attended it for seven months, but they were all great. My previous school is the best place to be here in Espírito Santo. It is a environment on which we learn a lot, get prepared to the college’s entrance test (Vestibular) and make amazing friendships. I attended this school since I was 9 years old, so I know everyone since 1st grade until 12th, even though it has lots of students, we always know each other name.

Well, this is a little about me as a friend and as a 9th grade girl. I'm so excited to attend Wasatch! I believe that the school and me will be a great match. I'm looking forward arriving in Utah and meet you all. Thanks for accepting me, and see you in August!

Love,

Genevieve Zucchetto"

XOXO
